Learning about Health and Safety in the Class Room
Capturing the imagination of a group of four- and five-year-olds is no easy task. However, Warehouse Logistics Manager Glenn Lee did just that when he visited a local primary school in Essex, where one of Mitsubishi Electric Europe’s UK Branch offices is based.
Using the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ to introduce the topic of construction, Glenn engaged with the children in a fun and interactive way. He also gave them the opportunity to handle some tools, and they especially enjoyed trying on PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as high-visibility jackets and hard hats—making sure everyone had a fantastic time.
The Early Years class teacher said, “The children had so much fun and learnt lots about the world of construction and the importance of health and safety – it was a great opportunity for them.”
Glenn said, ‘This was a perfect way to provide an introduction to the world of Mitsubishi Electric, specifically our Lifts and Escalators Division, and to spark the children’s imagination about how our work shapes the world around them!’
