As part of our ongoing commitment to mental health and well-being, Mitsubishi Electric Europe UK Branch was proud to support the Samaritans Brew Monday event on Monday 20th January. This initiative encourages people to reach out and connect with others over a cup of tea or coffee, especially during the often challenging winter months.

Why we supported Brew Monday?

  • It promotes Mental Health Awareness: Brew Monday helps raise awareness about mental health issues and the importance of staying connected;
  • Encourages Open Conversations: It provides a platform for open and supportive conversations, which can make a significant difference in someone’s life;
  • Fosters a Supportive Community: By participating, we show our commitment to fostering a supportive and caring community within our organization.

Engaging with people over a cup of tea or coffee is important during winter months

Over 60 colleagues across the Branch joined a virtual coffee and connect session, moving into smaller breakout rooms to have conversations with old friends and new contacts.

Other parts of the business used team meetings as a platform and we also encouraged people to reach out to family and friends for a chat. Added to this, a useful guide to signs to look out for if someone in case someone needs more support was provided.

Cheryl Cox said, “The winter months can be hard for people – especially those who spend a lot of time on their own. A small gesture like reaching out for a chat can make such a difference.”
