Supporting CESVI in providing aid to the people of Myanmar
Italy / Donation
June 2025
After the devastating earthquake that struck Myanmar on 28 March 2025, which claimed more than 3600 lives and injured 4800 people, Mitsubishi Electric Europe Italian Branch wanted to reaffirm its support for the affected communities.
In response to this tragic event, our Branch decided to make a concrete contribution by supporting the humanitarian organization CESVI, which has been active in the field since the early days of the emergency, providing vital assistance to millions of people who continue to urgently need support in a context already marked by deep fragility.
The contribution is intended as a tangible sign of closeness and solidarity with the affected communities, as well as support for the tireless work of the organization, its volunteers, and staff. CESVI’s work on the ground includes:
- Providing food kits and non-food emergency kits containing tents, plastic sheets, water purification tablets, solar-powered LED lamps, solar torches, and other essential items to over 15,000 people;
- Supporting the distribution of aid in the most remote and affected areas, such as the Southern Shan region, where CESVI has assisted 20 families by providing financial support to rebuild their traditional stilt houses, while also installing dedicated wastewater filtration systems to prevent untreated waste from entering Inle Lake;
- Expanding the reach of interventions, with the goal of helping as many people in difficulty as possible.
The donation from Mitsubishi Electric Europe Italian Branch complements ongoing relief operations coordinated by CESVI and reflects the branch’s commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives in Myanmar.
