Mitsubishi Electric Europe UK Branch colleagues proudly presented Mitsubishi Electric as volunteers at the Special Olympics GB (SOGB) athletics event held on 13 September 2025. The team spent the day supporting athletes, organisers and families, representing our company with enthusiasm and genuine community spirit.

Despite facing a few unexpected weather challenges throughout the day, Team Mitsubishi Electric remained positive and adaptable. Their optimism shone through, and they were rewarded with front‑row experiences of some truly impressive “track and field” moments. The athletes’ determination, courage and sheer energy were deeply inspirational, reminding everyone present of the true power of sport in bringing people together.

A particularly touching moment for our volunteers was a surprise from the youngest and newest member of the “dream team”, who thoughtfully created handmade bracelets featuring “Special Olympics”. This small but heartfelt gesture added a memorable personal touch to the day and strengthened the sense of unity among participants.

The SOGB continues to provide year‑round sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, helping them build physical fitness, confidence and lifelong friendships. For our colleagues, participating in this event was not only rewarding but also a meaningful way to bring our “Society” value to life. Those who joined would wholeheartedly encourage others to “give it a go”, promising an uplifting experience that contributes positively to the local community while showcasing what we stand for as Mitsubishi Electric.
