If you don’t have an efficient charging strategy in place – prior to implementing your infrastructure – you risk installing more power than you will truly need, costing you unnecessary investment in hardware and power grid connection. Maximising the utilisation rate of every charge point and providing the right power to each vehicle is integral to successful fleet electrification.

Assessing the added value of energy storage systems
Without the control of having your own storage system, you’ll be tied to the grid’s tariffs where you could end up paying peak prices. Having a battery will help you reduce the power you need to pull from the grid, minimising your grid usage fees.
Likewise, if your depot is located in an area subject to grid capacity constraints, having your own energy storage system will help you avoid the long lead times of grid connection and fastrack your transition to electric HDVs.
It’s also worth noting that, with your own storage system, you could take advantage of the ever-growing flexibility mechanisms on the energy market – opening up additional revenue streams.
